Capabilities

Our three major perforation technologies are:

Laser perforation Needle perforation (hot and cold) Thermal perforation

Each of our approaches, Laser, Needle, and Thermal perforation offer different capabilities. One of Perftech’s technologies will be the best technique suited for your particular application.

Perftech’s Laser perforation uses beams of focused light directed at the moving web to vaporize the substrate. This non-contact perforation technique requires no tooling, so patterns can be changed rapidly. Plus, with our highly versatile machinery, you have an almost limitless choice of available patterns.

Our Needle perforation is ideal for applications that need uniform patterns throughout the web. This is an economical approach to repetitive perforation at wide web widths. Tooling is made to produce hole patterns ranging from sparse (one hole per square inch) to dense (160+ holes per square inch). In addition, because we stock a variety of tooling hi-house, we likely have a tool set for your application.

Our Thermal perforation is an exciting and unique perforating technique available only through a few companies in the world. With possible patterns of up to 2,000 holes per square inch, it suits applications that require a very high density of holes. Like Laser perforation, it is a non-contact perforating technique that results in very clean and uniform perforations for the most demanding food, medical and filtration applications.

Perftech’s multiple perforating technologies allow us to perforate almost anything that can be supplied in roll form, including:

  • PET film
  • Co-extrusions and laminations
  • LDPE film
  • Papers
  • HDPE film
  • Metalized films
  • Polypropylene
  • Non-wovens
  • Nylon film
