Perforation Expertise Since 2002
Founded in 2002, Perftech began by developing perforation solutions for extending the shelf life of fresh-cut produce, initially using hot-needle perforation and later expanding into laser technology. Since then, we have developed expertise across multiple complementary perforation technologies serving food packaging, medical and industrial applications. Today, Perftech specializes exclusively in precision perforation and scoring of flexible films and other roll-fed substrates.
Perftech operates from a 60,000-square-foot facility just west of Chicago. Our central location allows us to efficiently serve converters, packagers and manufacturers throughout the United States.
Our facility was designed with efficiency, cleanliness and process control in mind. From production areas to material handling and quality systems, our operation supports the demanding requirements of customers in food packaging, medical and industrial markets.
Safe Quality Food (SQF Institute) Certification
Perftech is certified to the SQF Food Safety Code: Manufacture of Food Packaging, Edition 9. Our certification covers the perforating and converting of plastic films and reflects our commitment to food safety, quality systems, traceability and consistent manufacturing practices.
Our facility undergoes regular independent SQF audits to verify that our food-safety and quality systems meet the requirements of the SQF program. Laboratory Services
Consistent perforation performance requires more than producing a hole. Perftech provides laboratory analysis and quality testing to evaluate our perforation work and verify that finished material meets the requirements of each application. Our production is traceable from incoming source material through finished rolls.
We provide routine mechanical testing of customer-supplied material including:
- Microscopic evaluation of perforations
- Tear initiation and propagation
- Coefficient of friction
- Peel/seal strength
- Porosity as measured by airflow
Statistical Process Control and Trend Analysis
Perftech maintains production and quality data that can be reviewed using our Statistical Process Control (SPC) software. This allows us to evaluate historical data, identify trends and monitor process consistency over time.
